split from NYC today just before noon to avoid traffic on the roads. took me ~1 minute from where i was parked to get into the holland tunnel.

the new jersey turnpike on the other hand...

the snow started coming down, leaving a slushy mess, and many a fender bender. i counted at least 8 different incidents where a car skidded into a barrier or off the road. and then there was this.

for those of you out there with your new snow tires on, and also those of you who know how to handle your automobiles, please continue to be an example for these amateurs that are making our roads a dangerous place to be

Holy shit, that doesn't even look bad, should be an easy 50-60 mph, even without snow tires.

4wd/awd just provides a false sense of security.

Kinja'd!!!

the escalades do look pretty good though.

YES THIS TIMES A MILLION

There was a Wrangler stuck in my neighbors driveway earlier, and my family couldn't believe it "because it has AWD"

it was a bit deceiving. but youre right. i was doing ~55 and felt comfortable on 295 PS2s. Going over 65 and the traction control would kick in every once in a while, so i'd just slow back down to 55.

i'm assuming the 8-10 accidents i witnessed were due to over-confidence in grip, road condition, and driving ability.

No reason for that box truck to be rolled over like that. I know slush can get slick, but that wasn't even that much in the picture. That guy should be publicly shamed for that.

People still tailgate when its snowing out. I'm happy to have them buy me a new bumper.

Yes, everyone please stay safe. My Thanksgiving journey consists of walking between the couch and the kitchen ... will be checking a slow cooker that really doesn't need checking ....
